Speedix walked casually through the Great Forest, past its many trees and nearly into a clearing. It was morning time, but for a strange reason he preferred to stay in the shadows provided by the trees wide and thick leaves, unusual of the red hedgehog to do so. His eyes were closed the whole time, as if his eyes were super sensitive to any source of light, and with the red fur on his eye lids, it looked as though he were bleeding.
His chest had a gaping hole, that seemed to close in on itself until it didn't exist, as well as the many strange blood stains that covered his gloves and smudged his shoes. He seemed to suffer a serious headache, holding a hand to his forehead, rubbing the center to relieve the pain, but the pain seemed nearly impossible to remove.
He now walked aimlessly further into the forest, avoiding the clearing that he had just tried to go for, heading deeper into the more shadowy parts of the forest. As soon as light was completely cut off, he opened his eyes, revealing a pair of white nothingness that replaced everything that his eyes once featured. The gaping hole no longer existed as it seemed to find its own surgery within darkness, replacing and blocking out the hole from existence. The blood stains now began dripping, cleaning off Speedix's white gloves and blue shoes.
He sat down with a tired expression, falling to the ground flat on his back, two spines, and tail with his sitting position quickly disturbed by lack of sleep. He laid there, spread out with both arms and legs, looking towards the tiny little holes in the trees that let out only microscopic amounts of light through. Everything seemed peaceful in this section of the forest, with its quiet habitat and undisturbed nature, noticeable by its overgrown trees which reached far into one another's head with wide, thick, and ten-meter long leaves.
The reason for his feelings of sleepiness and expression of being tired, was because he had spent all night hunting. It was not any regular hunt where one would grab a weapon of some sort and use it, whatever it may be, on the game. This hunt had proven quite a challenge, or perhaps a half-defeat, to the red hedgehog. He been on the verge of death that night, but he felt like he had never even felt pain where his half-brother, Firon had struck him. He was controlled, resurrected, but not for his own purposes.
He felt the presence of a new life, or new purpose, that had taken control of his actions and the way he acted towards others. Speedix thought to himself, thinking progressively and knowledgeably, trying to understand his current situation. He had never felt himself act this way before, with his violent and savage attitude and never-ending threats for a complete power shift in the Freedom Fighters. He already knew he had kicked out three major members of a huge family tree that was grown to a full size to defeat nature's worst enemy, but the tree that was built lost a branch; a really big branch that nearly toppled the entire family tree to the soil from which is was grown from.
The Freedom Fighters acted as one whole family, but then as a separate unit when not being civilized and turning towards violence. Each freedom fighter, including any mobian, would keep that tree growing to its full height. Any losses would surely mean the decomposing of the tree, shortening its height. Betrayal creates a confusion in the tree's growth, making it damage itself trying to decide to either grow or drain itself of any previous growth.
Death, however, is what Speedix had in mind. He considered Firon, Violet, and Fists all outcasts; exiles, and not true freedom fighters. He believed in himself that killing them would not effect the tree, but would simply improve it. However, this was the thought of an evil mind that Speedix did not possess, a mind that Speedix never possessed from the start. He could feel the angering impulse in the back of his head, the blindness of his eyes that kept him from seeing physical truth. The only way he knew it was not him doing all of this, was a silent, faint voice he heard several times.
The voice was dark and creepy, carrying the crooked edge that made it seem the voice of that of a mad man, but then at other times giving it a straight edge which created a more modernized accent. It was silent and faint, for it came from no one else but from the red hedgehog himself, but not from his own lips. The voice was that of the controller's, but it was not Speedix's, and the red hedgehog seemed to be very familiar with it.
"I never knew this day would come..." the true Speedix within said in his own head, unable to use his own lips to speak. The dark voice that was inserted into the voice box of its victim spoke, with the crooked edge being exposed.
"It came alright...they shall die...all of them..." the voice sounded too mature to be Speedix, and the mentally crazy accent of the crooked edge was too unlikely to be anything like the red hedgehog. Once again, Speedix reorganized the voice and tried his best to contact the spirit that he believed possessed him.
"Demonica..." was all he could say before the spirit had silenced him, then released its invisible grip on the soul inside, feeling trust in the equation between the two.
"Speedix the Hedgehog...why do you resist?" Demonica had spoken in his straight edge, sounding perfectly understandable and somewhat annoying with his high-pitched and dark accent to boot. Speedix had thought once again, using his recessive mind to come up with his reply. It wasn't too long before the spirit grew impatient, but quickly satisfied with an answer when the red hedgehog spoke.
"Because you are not the one who owns this body...you were not born with it...it was never yours to begin with..." Speedix explained slowly, unable to speak fast without the throbbing pain of his headache returning. Demonica had already planned out his answer.
"But I am the one in control now...big difference," the straight accent grew less annoying, but more darker as he said each word with the essence of smart remarks implanted. Speedix grew confused, unknowingly to Demonica.
"But why?" he asked with the voice of an innocent who suffered, the very position he was in right now.
"It's fun..." Demonica replied in a childish manner, laughing in a kid laugh that was too devilish to sound young.
"No, it is not...it's pure stupidity," Speedix replied in a harsh, angry attitude. Demonica animated Speedix's lips to grin, revealing a pair of razor sharp teeth, showing his response. Speedix seemed to spot this but paid no mind at asking about it. Demonica spoke after he knew the red hedgehog was silent.
"That's what I am mostly; stupid. But why not have some fun right now?" Demonica asked in the same childish accent as before, sounding serious as he attempted to take control of Speedix's body, treating it like a puppet under the spell and control of a puppy master.
The red hedgehog's body sprang into action, its white eyes slowly turning red as blood vessels broke under extreme pressure. Demonica and Speedix fought for control, the body standing there, motionless. They could barely do much spiritually, but finally, Demonica had won and finished his act of complete possession of the body. Speedix cursed silently as Demonica took the full voice of the mouth, sounding louder then before.
"Let's go have some fun, Speedix..." the hedgehog that was no longer Speedix walked deeper into the darker parts of the forest, covering itself with the color black as its fur color changed to a light orange color, with the spikes and spines going against gravity as they lifted, jutting upward.
Before anymore could be seen, it vanished as though it was never there.
