Sonic opened his eyes slowly, a blurry image clearing up as he began to see. He shook his head, lifting a hand to his forehead to clear his head some more, until he could finally see straight. He got up from the ground slowly, falling back down a few times before he finally succeeded. He could see the inside of a nearly destroyed bunk house, smelling smoke from the outside, and seeing fire fill the view of each of the windows in the bunk house.

"Wha...what...happened?" he asked in a silent voice, rubbing his head, feeling the many bumps and bruises laid out randomly through his bloody blue fur, falling to the ground again.

"You got knocked out pretty bad, so we brought you into possibly one of the last standing buildings here," a familiar voice explained. Sonic turned his head until he saw its source, the red echidna, Knuckles. He saw the yellow echidna, Fists, sitting up against the wall, injured. Fists looked at Sonic, looking as though he knew everything.

"What happened you ask? Two pissed off demons is what happened...they destroyed the entire camp...and from what I can guess, that black one wiped Robotroplis off the planet..." Fists answered, moving his head downward until he laid down completely on the floor, the tip of his head touching the wooden wall. He sighed and breathed one last time, then strangely stopped.

Knuckles leaned against the wall nearby, holding his arms across his chest, his huge fists dragging downward. Sonic got up fully to his feet again, limping towards one of the windows. He looked up towards the sky through the window, seeing the starless sky covered in dark, black smoke. All he could see that made light, was an orange and red glowing dot, getting bigger in size as it seemed to draw closer to the surface.

It wasn't too long until Sonic realized it was the orange demon hedgehog, Demonica, making his way back to the planet to destroy everything and kill anyone. He looked down in fear, closing his eyes and shaking his head side to side. He didn't know what use it was to fight someone more powerful then him. He remembered how he was easily beaten by Shadow Shade and he felt hopeless. He sighed, turning around to look at the two echidnas in the building, only to see they laid out on the ground, not breathing or moving.

"They're...dead?" Sonic looked away, from both the echidnas and the window which held the sight of more death. Everyone was gone. Tails, his best buddy was gone. Knuckles and Fists had died from mortal wounds. Speedix was killed and he didn't do anything to help him. Everyone was dead. Despair quickly filled Sonic, and his heart stopped beating. He was not dying, but transforming.

Anger filled Sonic's mind, hatred brewing throughout his entire body. He gripped his fists tightly, pushing out blood from his wounds, opening his eyes and revealing completely them to be completely white. He began falling to the floor, only to come back up again, as he lost control. His blood vessels broke, creating red scarlets throughout his eyes, and his teeth grew sharp. His fur turned completely black, then finally, he lost his mind. He released his energy as he sensed Demonica's presence coming towards him, resulting into another explosion, destroying the building from within and blowing away the two corpses of the echidnas that were two sources of this unpredicted transformation.

Demonica felt the reaction of hate and anger from within the ruins of the Freedom Fighter camp, but found himself too late to react as a gigantic explosion shot out at a lighting-fast pace and struck him hard. He used chaos control to teleport into another part of the sky, to avoid further damage. He looked around him, still feeling the hate of an angered soul, until his eyes came upon what he almost mistaken for as Shadow Shade.

Standing before him, was a completely black colored, tall spiked and spined hedgehog with white and red scarred eyes on his face. He carried a huge resemblance to Super Sonic, the only difference being the eyes and the fur color. Demonica watched carefully at his new opponent, knowing that this was not a weakling, but a huge threat. Both hedgehogs stared off at each other, both ready to attack to any slight movement that the other made, their fists radiating with chaos energy. Demonica spoke.

"Who are you supposed to be? A fake?" the question made the dark hedgehog laugh. A cold, dark, echoing laugh that seemed to linger on throughout the burning ruins and empty smoke that filled the view of the battle field. He stopped laughing almost immediately, staring deeply and strangely at the orange demonic hedgehog.

"I'm Sonic...world's fastest hedgehog...prepare to meet your doom for the deaths of my friends and the people of Mobius!" he yelled out in answer, charging at a pace too fast for Demonica. Before the orange hedgehog could dodge in time, he was punched powerfully to the face, then to the stomach, shooting him into the crumbling ground below.

Sonic didn't stop there however, and began firing various chaos attacks as he felt that Demonica would not be defeated so easily. Huge explosions destroyed the landscape, burning everything away from existence. Sonic didn't stop firing, and his energy seemed endless, until a huge flash hit and stunned him. Demonica teleported right in front of him, holding a green glowing fist towards Sonic with reintroduced hatred.

"Nice trick...but let me show you one of mine..." he said coldly, releasing some of the energy in his fist. The green energy formed into lime green colored and glowing clones of the demonic hedgehog, creating four of the same demon. They all stared at their opponent and charged with the knowledge of their orders already understood.

They each grabbed a separate limb, using powerful and unbelievable strength to pull. Sonic's arms and legs were pulled to their limits, and the clones held the hate-controlled hedgehog in place. He struggled and yelled out, his energy raising as he attempted to break free, but to no avail. Demonica floated in front of him, holding out his glowing hand again, this time pointing it at Sonic's chest. Demonica's red eyes revealed its seemingly invisible irises as he grinned evilly, preparing another attack.

"Chaos Drain!" the orange hedgehog screamed out, shooting the energy from his hand into Sonic's chest. Chaos energy began leaving the black hedgehog, weakening him. When all seemed well for Demonica, something wasn't right.

At first, Sonic was yelling out in pain due to loss of his own life force, but then, as his chaos energy drew to nothing, the painful screaming silenced itself, and laughing replaced it. Both hedgehogs stared at each other, with Demonica losing his triumph face, replaced with a look of confusion and anger. Sonic glanced at him, with a crazy, mad stare, laughing manically.

"You really are an idiot aren't you? I don't use chaos energy...because I don't need it..." Sonic said evilly as his laughter disappeared, quickly jutting forward with his arms and legs, breaking the grip of the four Demonica clones and killing them off with his sword-like movement. The clones vanished into thin air and Sonic positioned himself, ready to attack.

"Enough of your tricks!" the dark hedgehog charged and grabbed Demonica's throat with his seemingly superior speed and strength, holding his other fist in the air, with it radiating with a strange type of power that was not of chaos energy "Time to die, for the deaths you and that other freak caused!" He drove his fist into the orange hedgehog's chest, piercing it like a very sharp blade. It burned away at anything inside the chest, digging a hole that went all the way through the front to the back.

Demonica gasped and his red eyes disappeared, turning to a plain white color. Blood poured out of his mouth like a fountain, only stopping once Sonic brought back his blood-covered fist to his side. The orange bloody fur changed to a bright red color, and blue irises faded onto the hedgehog's eyes.

Soon, the demon that was once Demonica was changing back into Speedix. The wound disappeared from the chest, no hole was visible. But Sonic could tell that Speedix was dead already, and watched as his body fell out of the air, crashing into the dark, black smoke clouds below, disappearing without a trace.

Sonic watched carefully, making sure no life existed from his opponent, then turned away to fly to a safe surface. He slowly made his way through the air, thinking everything was over and that he had avenged everyones' deaths, until he felt a powerful energy presence.

Something struck him like a thunder bolt, forcing him to look up and see the source of the energy. His eyes stared in shock as he saw what looked like an incoming missile crash into him, revealing itself to be Shadow Shade. The force of the impact was so powerful, Sonic's entire body became stunned, with other parts becoming dead.

Completely disabled, Sonic was defenseless against Shadow Shade's wrath as the red-eyed, dark black hedgehog unleashed his charged energy within himself and spelled the end for Sonic. In the last few seconds of Sonic's life, he changed back to his normal blue form, before being blown to tiny pieces by Shadow Shade's attack, the Chaos Finisher.

An explosion followed shortly after as the chaos finisher continued its way through the destroyed particles of Sonic's body, past empty air, and crashing into the camp. The explosion became very intense, nearly engulfing the whole camp and spreading to every mile of the ruins, barely reaching the Great Forest. Shadow Shade became contained within his own attack, and lost all his energy instantly. His body began burning intensely, and his form was beginning to lose itself as chaos drainage occurred.

Soon, Shadow Shade lost his form, losing his black fur and red eyes, along with all his powers. He changed back to Firon, with the gray fur popping out viciously, with the eyes only resembling plain white spaces as they could not be restored. Without any power to save himself, he fainted and fell down to the planet, further into the explosion, and perhaps to his grave.
