Explosions blew the landscape apart, huge flashes of light blinded all who looked. It was total chaos, and any who came within reach of the raging battle between demons would no longer be in reality, but killed in the most horrible way, taking their soul to another realm where existence was irrelevant.

Shadow Shade and Demonica flew around the ruins of the Freedom Fighter Camp, firing off several chaos blasts and arrows, mostly missing each other by mere inches or even centimeters. The shots that missed, destroyed another part of the landscape below. They both moved at a lighting-fast pace, looking like streaks of color and light in the black smoke that rose from the battlefield. They both were restless, and wouldn't stop attempting to kill the other, but both knew they were too equally matched.

Sonic laid on the ground far from the battlefield, reverted from his super form. He held his hand to his chest and shoulder, noticing several burnt wounds, with black and red blood pouring from them. He was injured badly, beyond medication or help. All he could do was rest, and hope that his wounds would heal. He closed his eyes, tried to empty the noise out of his head, but in the end, fainted instead.

Fists and Knuckles noticed the blood-covered blue hedgehog lying on the ground, doing their best to crawl to him. The shock waves from explosions shook the area, making it difficult to move. Both echidnas used their superior strength to keep on track, until they were finally right next to the unconscious hedgehog's body.

They looked at each other and noticed that Sonic would not wake up, but also knew for sure that he wasn't dead. They both wanted to say thanks, a thanks for the blue hedgehog saving them from what would of been a cruel and vicious death. However, no words would ever go through the hedgehog's ears now, and the two echidnas grabbed the body, dragging it to a nearby building that looked stable enough to keep them safe.

The two demons for hedgehogs continued their fight to the death in the air. They rose higher into the sky, making their attacks more powerful and devastating as their rage grew. Without any ground to land, chaos blasts blew into huge balls of bright light, lighting up the sky like a flare. They rose to even greater heights, as they began to leave the planet through the ozone layer, then literally floating with their intense speed, through the atmosphere, and finally into outer space.

With no gravity acting on them, they moved at light speed, slowed down by the lack of gravity and low storage of energy from the planet. Both hedgehogs stopped short before their next assault, staring each other down with their glowing red and hateful eyes. They glowed with their red auras surrounding them, and radiated with chaos energy all over themselves. Their hunger for death and power pressured them to attack, gave them the urge to charge forward and deliver a killing blow. However, with their superior intelligence, they outsmarted the pressure and kept calm, keeping their eyes locked on each other's movements. Shadow Shade crossed his arms over his chest, with Demonica doing the same.

"How strange...I expected you to be weaker, but you're more stronger then I thought..." Shadow Shade told the orange hedgehog in an amused and crooked voice, making a hidden grin in his face of darkness. Demonica smiled as a response.

"Same to you..." he replied simply, forcing the smile to disappear in a flash of reawakened hate. Shadow Shade kept his grin, turning it to a darkened smile.

"That doesn't mean you're stronger then me...You're still the same..."

"Weakling?" the orange hedgehog finished the dark demon's sentence.

"I'm afraid you're incorrect..."

"Oh I'm sorry, I meant inferior disgrace," the insult didn't anger the dark hedgehog, but instead made him even more amused, making his smile more crooked and evilly-possessed.

"You're smarts might be great...but mine are greater..." Shadow Shade said in the most coldest and darkest tone possible, uncrossing his arms. His black fur turned red in a flash, glowing with the same light red aura as Demonica's. The orange hedgehog had a surprised expression, examining the newly-colored hedgehog.

Shadow Shade's eyes were now completely white, had skin showing, and his mouth was no longer hidden by darkness. Soon, pupils and irises slowly faded their way in on the hedgehog's eyes, giving him the appearance of a red Super Sonic. Demonica laughed coldly, making Shadow Shade smile as if he knew what was funny.

"Not only are you a disgrace, you made yourself look like one to!" the orange hedgehog kept laughing, closing his eyes and putting one of his hands to his stomach. Shadow Shade saw his chance, charging forward with hyper-fast speed, too fast for Demonica to even see coming. He quickly charged a chaos attack, held his chaos energy-infested hand to the demonic hedgehog's chest, using his other hand to grip his throat tightly.

"Looks are deceiving...don't fall for it..." Shadow Shade said slowly, for his opponent to understand. He released the energy in the form of a chaos spear, driving it through the demon's chest and out the other side. The red hedgehog stared at his foe, seeing him gasp for breathe but found none in the void of space. However, the smile on Shadow Shade's face was rubbed off permanently, as he began to hear evil laughter from Demonica. The orange hedgehog leaped and quickly placed his hands on the red hedgehog's chest.

"Let's see if you enjoy it!" Demonica yelled out in triumph, charging as much chaos energy as he could, then finally ready in little time "Chaos Piledrive!" The energy was released, blowing a huge hole into the deceived hedgehog's chest, and punching him back into the atmosphere of Mobius. Demonica followed back down, to meet the hedgehog on the surface. He disappeared in a flash of light speed.

As Shadow Shade fell, his red fur disappeared, along with his wound. His black fur, mouth less, dark-infested form in his possession. His eyes were closed, as he had fainted, his chaos energy unstable, making him launch to the surface of the planet like a rocket going upside down.

His eyes opened in a heart beat, his red eyes glowing blood red with vengeance and his fists radiating with an overcharge of chaos energy. He grinned behind his darkness, and fell to the planet, preparing his final attack, and perhaps finishing the fight permanently.
