Firon jumped high into the air, striking with the power of his Firon Flamethrower as dead Mobians tried to reach up and slash him to pieces with their decaying weapons. Speedix began circling around a large group of the dead horde, speeding up with each complete circle. Soon a small whirlwind formed under the intense speed, picking up the dead Mobians and throwing them against the far walls of the chamber. The whirlwind turned to dust as Speedix slowed down and went off to attack another group.

"How many do you think there is?" Firon asked in the heat of combat, dodging every slash and evading every lunge.

"Doesn't matter, they just keep coming back to life...we have to escape!" Speedix reported, repeating his whirlwind attack, but to no avail. Violet stood safely near the shrine of the Chaos Emerald, her fear rising as each dead Mobian drew closer to her, despite Speedix and Firon's attempts.

"Violet!" Firon yelled across the room, his voice heard through the echoeing emptyness of the chamber.

"What is it, Firon?" Violet yelled back in response, struggling to listen to any reply through the sounds of swords clashing with stone instead of the hedgehogs themselves.

"We need you to think of a way to get us out of here! Before we become dead Mobians!" Firon ordered the purple hedgehog as he began using Speedix's whirlwind attack, in order to keep the dead army at bay. Violet began thinking, trying her best to ignore the loud thrashing and whirling that echoed through the chamber.

"In order to stop dead creatures from the past...you would need something that could stop time and freeze them to death...but what?" Violet began putting more thought into her idea, and more ignorance towards the sound. Soon nothing broke through her ears,and with the last bit of thinking she could do, she finally found out the last part of her idea.

"Firon!" Violet screamed his name, which immedently got the gray hedgehog's attention.

"Did you find out what we gotta do yet?" Firon yelled back as a reply, keeping his attention on the contiunesly rampaging dead horde.

"The only way to stop them is to stop time and freeze them to death! Use Chaos Control!" Firon's thoughts broke as he found out the answer to his problems: The chamber's chaos emerald. He quickly pulled it out of his mission pack with his empty hand, while his other hand was being filled with flames from his attacks. Soon the red-ruby glowing chaos emeralds came into hand. Firon quickly grasped it and raised his hand into the air, shouting "Chaos Control!" He began concertrating the energy from the chaos emerald, and used his thoughts to bring the power to life. Soon the dead Mobians froze in place, their weapons dropping from their nearly-skinless hands.

"You did it, they stopped attacking!" Speedix said in apperication, grinning. Firon nodded, lowering his hand and near his side, the chaos emerald glowed with a powerful red light, showing that its power was still active. Violet quickly walked next to Firon, Speedix appearing to the gray hedgehog's other side.

"We better get out of here...the sooner, the better," Firon told his friends, looking towards the entrance to the chamber. Before either of the hedgehogs could take one step, a loud crumbling noise was heard. As the volume of the sound lowered, Firon quickly towards the source and saw a huge piece of the ceiling fall and crash near their position.

"We have to get out of here! The place is falling apart!" Violet screamed, shivering in fear. Firon threw his chaos emerald in his mission pack, picking Violet off the floor. Speedix began racing towards the exit, leading the way. Firon stared down at Violet, her eyes filled with fear and encouragement. Firon could feel her shivering, causing him to sigh.

"Hold on tight and don't let go, I'll get us out of here," he told her, determenation in his voice. Violet nodded, her grasp tightening on Firon's shoulders. Firon then took his attention off of Violet, his view turning towards the exit. He began running through the ceiling falling death trap, jumping on falling pieces of debris and chunks of rock. He didn't know how much longer the chaos emerald's power could last, for if its power faded, the dead Mobians would rise again and make the escape even more difficult.

"Hurry up! The floor is starting to get covered with the ceiling!" Speedix reported as he saw the shrine, that the three of them once stood on, now covered in rock. Firon started jumping and running faster, the world around him beginning to slow down as his speed went faster then the speed of sound. The ceiling began to fall completely apart, filling almost the whole chamber and nearly blocking off Firon's only exit.

"I have no choice, otherwise we'll be stuck here...Chaos Release!" Firon yelled out, turning off the power of the chaos emerald. The dead Mobians began rising once again, gripping their weapons where their blades and axes had fallen. Instead of a groan in anger, Firon smiled as he knew that the ceiling's pieces of rock and stone had crushed the dead Mobians, preventing them from chasing him. Speedix was caught by surprise as Firon quickly appeared in front of him, grasping the red hedgehog's arm and pulling him into the exit. At the last second, a boulder landed on the exit, blocking it off.

Firon jumped quickly from wall to wall inside the entrance hole, trying to make his escape as rocks began jutting upward towards him from down below. He soon sprang out of the hole and into the swamp that surrounded it, landing perfectly on the grassy part of the swamp with little trouble. The gray hedgehog quickly turned his attention to the hole, a shock expression appearing on his face as he saw rocks spilling out of it. Violet and Speedix dropped to the ground, finally out of the dangerous chamber and into the safe haven of the Great Forest.

"That was one strange mission..." Firon said under his breath loudly, falling to the ground with a sigh of relief.

"Strange as in death, correct?" Speedix asked, exaiming the fully-filled hole. Violet repeated Firon's sigh of relief, looking at a watch on her wraist, taking time to look over the time on its digital mini-screen.

"We have a few minutes of rest time, then we head back home," she informed, sighs of relaxation were heard from Firon and Speedix, with the red hedgehog falling to the ground and lying on the grass. Violet smiled in response, as she sat in between the two hedgehogs. All three of them gazed at the night sky, relaxing as the wind blew quietly on them. Firon looked towards his two friends, grinning with pride.
