It was a cold, dark night in the Great Forest, with only the light from the stars and the moon shining onto the forest. Firon, Fists, and Violet walked slowly through the trees of the Great Forest, all of them with hunger in mind. All three of them had been banished from the Freedom Fighters, and were given their things before leaving the camp grounds. They were exiled, and no longer part of society.
Firon led his uncle and his friend through the forest. His eyes were used to the dark, which is how he usually found his way through the darkness of the forest at night. Speedix the Hedgehog, along with betrayal, is all that filled Firon's thoughts. Firon was angered at Speedix's actions towards him, along with his uncle and friend. He knew by now that Speedix had taken control of the Freedom Fighters, and with his newfound power, the red hedgehog could do almost anything he wanted to. Almost anything, the Freedom Fighters still had a war with Eggman. Firon, Fists, and Violet, were neutral in this war now, or perhaps, not part of the war at all.
"Stop," Firon said simply, holding out his hand as a signal to his two companions, his voice drifting more silently "We'll camp here for tonight, start cutting some wood and I'll make the fire," Both Fists and Violet nodded, heading towards nearby trees. Violet took out a wood-cutting axe from her mission pack and started slashing its wedge-shaped blade onto the hard bark of a tree. Fists used his fists, for he had super strength just like his old friend, Knuckles the Echidna, back in the Freedom Fighter camp. Fists had no problem punching through the tree's trunk, which simply broke in half with a few punches. The yellow echidna grabbed hold of the tree, holding it still and keeping it balanced, and began using one of his hands to cut the wood into pieces. Violet was still attempting to cut the tree down, but she was only halfway done.
"Need some help?" Firon asked eagerly, stepping up next to the tired and already-sweating hedgehog. Violet turned her view to him, nodding a bit. Firon smiled, and quickly began searching through his mission pack. He pulled out two perfect-cut gems, that glowed with their own color. It was Firon's green chaos emerald, and Speedix's red chaos emerald. Violet's eyes widened in shock as she saw Firon hold both chaos emeralds, in his possession.
"Where did you get those chaos emeralds? Wasn't yours taken from you? And how did you get Speedix's chaos emerald?" she asked in confusion. Firon's smile turned into a grin.
"I finally figured out how to use Chaos Control, and I used it to quickly grab the chaos emeralds before we were kicked out," Firon placed the red chaos emerald back in his pack, holding his green one near the tree "Now...about that tree..."
"I'll step out of the way, just in case," Violet replied. Firon's smile returned, but faded as he closed his eyes and began concentrating the energy from his chaos emerald, into his body. A green flash erupted from the emerald's center, with a lime-green colored electrical charge heading up through Firon's arm, to his head, and into his chest.
Fists took notice of this as he was laying down blocks of woods onto the ground, dropping the last one as he stood limply, stunned by the performance. Violet stood close by Firon, worry in her eyes. At first, it seemed as though Firon was electrocuting himself, but then, the electrical currents ceased, and the flash from the emerald dimmed until nothing glowed. Firon opened his eyes, revealing a pair of green eyes, which replaced his normal blue eyes.
"What happened?" Fists and Violet asked in worry, noticing Firon's new eye color. Firon kept his eyes on the tree, aiming, holding out his empty hand towards its trunk.
"Watch this, and you will see," Firon replied to them, as his companions silenced themselves to watch. A green glowing orb slowly formed in the palm of his hand, glowing brighter and bigger as time went on. In a minute or so, the orb had turned into a nearly-flat disk, with no other color but white and a green aura surrounding it.
"Chaos Spear!" Firon yelled out, sending his energy disk towards the tree. Just before a split-second from when it hit the tree, it changed into an triangle-shaped energy arrow. In no time at all, the tree was sliced into pieces, evenly cut as each block of wood was being hacked from the tree. Firon still held out his hand to keep his attack flowing, but he felt himself lose energy fast.
It wasn't long until the whole tree was turned into a pile of wooden blocks, but Firon felt like he was going to pass out very soon, as he dropped his chaos emerald and held his hand across his face. Violet ran up to him and shook him, making him turn his attention to her.
"Are you okay?" she asked in fear, shaking him still. Firon released his grip on his attack and fell to the ground, all his energy sapped from him, with his chaos spear vanishing into thin air. Violet hurriedly went his aid, crouching by his side. He lifted his head slowly and looked at her beautiful purple eyes, and smiled.
"I guess I need a little more practice," he replied, getting up from the ground. Fists looked at Firon with up most surprise. The gray hedgehog turned to him and made a confused expression on his face.
"What are you so shocked about?" he asked, staring deep into his uncle's blood-red eyes. Fists shook his head quickly, turning his back on his nephew.
"Nothing, I just think that was a good performance...but, how did you control the chaos energy?" the yellow echidna asked, his curiosity growing. Firon thought for a while, rubbing his chin, then turned to face the echidna.
"I just used my energy and thoughts to take the powers out of the chaos emerald...simple as that, but it really takes a lot out of you if you're not careful..." Firon answered, turning toward the collection of wooden blocks. He raised his hand again, a single current of electricity escaping his fingers, and striking the logs with a powerful blow. A camp fire was started, and Firon sat near it, holding his hands out to get some warmth.
"We'll get started on shelter soon, but for now, warm yourselves around the fire," the gray hedgehog told them, rubbing his hands together. Violet and Fists approvingly sat next to him near the fire, with Violet getting real close to the gray hedgehog, her head on his shoulder. Firon became confused and curious about why she was this close to him.
"Violet, how come you're literally on top of me?" he asked her, looking at her for a while. Violet blushed, and stuffed her head further onto Firon's chest and shoulder, to hide her burning cheeks.
"I just feel warmer...can't I just stay like this? I don't wanna get cold," Firon didn't have to think about his answer, and gladly let Violet lay next to him. Fists saw them together, getting some pretty obvious thoughts in his head, but kept to himself. He hid a smile on his face to avoid letting Firon get suspicious.
Soon, after a few long minutes, everyone got tired, and fell to the ground, going to sleep. Darkness began filling their eyes, with the warmth of their fire felt throughout them. They all finally went out completely, cutting them off from the real world as they drifted off to fantasy, where their dreams would lurk.
