At the Freedom Fighter Camp's research lab, a dark yellow echinda named Fists began looking over samples of wood and grass touched by chaos energy. His assissitant, a purple-blue hedgehog named Violet, was analyzing truely chaos-touched samples, attempting to remove the energy and use it for future use.

Outside the research lab, was Firon who was running at full speed towards it. He tried to make sure his discovery didn't fall out of his mission pack, so as he got closer to the research lab, he started slowing down by coming to a halt. However as soon as he made it to the door, it was too late to slow down, he began sliding inside the research lab at full speed, crashing into the lab tables and breaking test tubes and computers. Fists took notice of this immedently and jumped in front of the rampaging hedgehog.

"Hold it there son!" the echidna quickly put his hands in front of the hedgehog and, with all his strength, moved towards the hedgehog to push him back, giving Firon enough fraction to slow down. Soon Firon was at a complete stop, his shoes glowing red from the uncalled-for sliding and screeching.

"What's with all the exictment, Firon?" Fists asked impatiencely.

"You'll never believe what I found!" Firon exclaimed as he opened his mission pack, pulling out a green chaos emerald.

"Holy!" Fists was amazed by this sight "Violet come look at this!" His assisstant didn't hesistate, she quickly walked over between the uncle and newphew.

"A chaos emerald?" Violet said in wonder "How and where did you find this, Firon?" she looked at the exicted gray hedgehog, with a questioning look.

"I found it nearby the Great River, after I destoryed this metal fish robot," he answered.

"You were attacked by a metal fish and found a chaos emerald?" Fists asked in confusion, he nodded quickly "Nevermind, this might lead to a new discovery, we might be able to study it for improvement in our war against Eggman. Good going son," The echidna patted Firon on the back gently. Firon only grinned and pulled back the chaos emerald away from the amazed echidna.

"Thanks Uncle Fists," Firon turned his view to Violet "What do you think this chaos emerald might do for us?" She took the chaos emerald from his hand, looking over every corner and edge of it.

"It might help us discover a new type of power...perhaps teleportion or stronger attacks for our military," Violet answered, still looking over the chaos emerald "Speedix told us that each chaos emerald holds a different type of power, their color tells us what power the emerald might hold...for example, green tells us the emerald has the power of Chaos Control,"

"Chaos Control?" Fists and Firon both asked, with very wonderous glances, followed by questioning looks.

"Yes, Chaos Control is the power of being able to control time and space, it also holds another power in it, but I'll need to further study it in order to find out," she returned the emerald to Firon, who slowly took it and looked over the flashing green light generated by the emerald itself.

"The power to control time and space..." he said silently under his breath, making sure Violet or Fists didn't hear him. He turned his glance back to Violet, who quickly took notice of him "How can I summon the power of Chaos Control?"

"Well, Speedix told us in order to use power of a chaos emerald, you have to concertrate the energy from it and say the words of the power you're using, for example: Chaos Control," Violet explained. By this time Firon was very amazed and kept his eyes on the glowing center of the chaos emerald "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to analyzing," the purple hedgehog told him as she walked back to her station.

Firon walked outside the research lab and sat on its pourch, still being amazed by what power the chaos emerald had.

"If I can really use this to control time and space...perhaps I could save my parents from Dr. Eggman, or probably stop Eggman altogether," Firon grinned as he packed the emerald in his mission pack. He began running at a fast pace towards Speedix's house, in order to find out more on the mystrey of the Chaos Emeralds.
