Firon took each step slowly through the swamps of the Great Forest, with Violet and his half-brother, Speedix following behind him. He kept an eye on the ground, making sure there were no booby traps or deathtraps set by Eggman's robots.

"Violet, where did my uncle say the emerald was again?" Firon asked Violet, who held his breath because of the bad air produced from the nearby swamp pollution.

"I believe the chaos emerald is deep under the marsh of the swamp, we may have to dig," Violet replied, gasping as she became victim to the bad air as well.

"Oh great!" Firon complained, stomping his foot on the ground "How the heck did a chaos emerald go under anyway?"

"I dunno, but it seems we might have to start digging unless..." Violet stopped as she took out her scanner.

"Unless what?" Firon and Speedix asked, both of them exchanging confused glances.

"Unless they were hidden in an underground storage area, start looking for a secert entrance of any kind," Violet ordered the two hedgehogs. Speedix nodded and immedently began running across the swamp, looking for any clue of a secert entrance. Firon stood beside Violet, looking at her scanner.

"Can't you tell where the entrance is?" he asked, turning his view to Violet.

"I might, it should be where the chaos emerald's signal is coming from," Violet answered, she looked towards the ground, scanning it "It should be right below us...Speedix!"

"Yeah?" Speedix called out, stopping himself and running towards Violet's position.

"The entrance is right here," the violet hedgehog pointed toward the ground next to her "Try spin dashing it,"

Speedix didn't hesistate and quickly charged up a spin dash attack, moving himself through the air until his spikes met with the ground. In a few minutes, a loud metal bang noise generated from Speedix's assault.

"Speedix, disengage your attack, I think we found it," Violet told Speedix as the red hedgehog stopped spinning and moved away. Firon walked towards the ground Speedix assaulted, and discovered part of a metal door stuck in the ground.

"Found it, we just need to remove some parts of the ground to open it," Firon releaved as he began charging a spin dash attack to cut the ground away from the door. Speedix gladly joined Firon on his clean-up job as he charged up another spin dash and moved towards the ground once again.

With the combined teamwork of the two hedgehogs, the ground was no longer present, but a huge metal door was in its place. Firon and Speedix disengaged their spin dash attacks, staring down at the metal door with eagerness of exploration.

"Who do you think would hide a chaos emerald in an underground storage area?" Firon asked, looking towards Speedix with a challenging stare "Speedix, since you were the old chaos emerald guardian, did you put it in there?"

"How should I know?" he replied, looking back at the gray hedgehog "I dunno where the chaos emeralds might of gone, I just spread them across the planet in random fashion,"

"Enough you two, open the door," Violet ordered in a harsh tone. Firon and Speedix nodded lazily as they pulled out super-magnets from their mission packs. They attached the magnets slowly, in order for them to stick to the door. The magnets struck like bullets as the two hedgehogs struggled to put the metal door up and out of its place on the ground. It didn't budge.

"What is with this door?" Firon complained annoyingly, hitting the door with his fist "It won't move!"

"Perhaps this isn't a door, but metal blockage," Speedix suggested, releasing his grip from his super-magnet.

"You're right, this is metal blockage," Violet pointed out, looking at her scanner once again "But in order to remove, you have to use it like an elevator, or in other words, push it down the hole,"

"Sounds easy enough," Firon exclaimed, jumping into the air and preparing an attack "Firon Flamethrower!" Firon struck out his right hand, his left balancing it out. A bright red flame of light zoomed out of his palm and crashed into the metal door. Soon the metal door began moving downward into the hole, but slowly at first.

"Lemme help, I might be able to push it down faster if I were to help," Speedix told Firon as he dropped down on top of the metal door "Speedix Speedbang!" Speedix curled, in response, into a spiky, supersonic ball and began bouncing off the surface of the metal door, punching it with a stronger force each landing. Soon, the metal door began moving downward even faster, with each impact from Speedix's attack.

Violet began analayzing the hole created by Speedix and Firon, making sure they weren't making a mistake and blocking off their entrance to the storage area. Soon she nodded to Firon, telling him to stop their assault. Firon nodded back and turned off his flame attack, flying towards the ground nearby the hole. However, Speedix was too deep into the newly-created hole to get the signal, but he soon stopped mystriously.

"Hey guys! The metal door won't go any deeper! And I found something!" Speedix yelled from down below. Firon ran towards Violet, picking her up off the ground.

"Hold on tight," he told her, she nodded and held onto him as the gray hedgehog jumped into the hole, bouncing off the walls into the deep darkness.
